This splitter can go vertical. For the test run after getting it home, it was fed knarley knotty rounds. It sheared the lateral branches off rather than stopping. This unit does not have a filter in the hydro line. Do you think that could be a problem?

Nice toy! Hydro filter should be an easy and fairly inexpensive addition for peace of mind. TSC sells them with the filter and mounting base included.
