Newbie Question about fireplace screen and doors

Hi,

Our wood burning fireplace firebox height is about 3/4” higher than the hearth. We ordered a metal screen which has legs on both front and back. Since hearth and firebox are uneven it won’t fit the fireplace snugly. For now we’ve kept it on the hearth about 2” away from the fireplace wall.

I’m looking for a solution either to find a screen that only has legs on the front side or something more innovative.

We don’t want to go with fireplace door which will vastly reduce the size of the opening.

We’ve considered few options.

1. Folding screen with and without doors - it doesn’t fit snugly
2. Magnetic mesh doors - worried about magnets not able to hold the weight of the screen
