New to this forum. Great information and great folks.

Purchased a new Harman XXV replacing a Vermont Casting LP stove. They will be installing tomorrow. Old stove was vented thru roof with B-gas vent. They will replace that with new vent pipe that is up to code for wood pellet stove. Unit will be in corner of great room with open kitchen and dining room. Bedrooms off to the side. Will be heating approx. 1200 Sq. ft. Unit will be on upper level. Not practical to put on lower level. Home has forced air on one side and baseboard water heat on other. Propane costs sky hi this year. We live in No. Wisconsin. Really appreciate all the info. I have learned the last few weeks reading info. on this forum. I am sure I will have more questions. I have a surge protector and back up generator which helps during power outages which are quite frequent where we live. Any other suggestions?

Welcome to the site. I would look into a UPS to help power your stove instead of a suppressor as the suppressor wont keep any power to stove for those events as our UPS calls them, but can keep the stove running for 20-30 minutes which in my area covers most power problems. Vermont castings made a vey nice gas stove. With a supply of pellets you wont be feeling the propain. No one is having an answer to what the price of gas will be next season. We like picture here so post the install.

Thanks glad to be here. We are fortunate in that we have a whole house generator for power back up. Switches over in 10 seconds or less when we lose power. Will also post picture once installed..

Harman is better in starting backup after an event but our Bixby goes into shutdown even for a 5 second blip.

A Powersmith ash vac. A linteater to clean vent. My GE 12k wholehouse standby generator has worked just fine with my pellet stove, thru 3 outages. Auto shutdown and auto restart.
