Hey folks,
I just joined the forum today and I need some advice. Apparently I had a chimney fire last year and it cracked the clay liners in both chimneys. I have a fire place upstairs and a Fisher Grandpa Bear in the basement. The chimney sweep that discovered this today is saying I have a 8x8 opening for the stove and a 8in liner would be required to continue using my old stove, but it won't fit. So I will need to replace my downstairs stove. And he recommends a 6in liner in the fireplace and install a insert, they sell Lopi stoves and inserts.
Now he said we need to break the old tile out to install the liners, is that true, if so how much should it cost?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
hoki
