Question:

Hi Craig, Do you know if "reduced vent requirement" vented gas logs, like the one made by Peterson (RG-6 series) , come with oxygen depletion sensors or related CO detection devices? Do the safety features vary at all by state in which the gas logs are sold?

Answer:

Only the ventless logs come with ODS .. Certain states do not require the safety pilot system ... you can just light it with a match...I would never use a set without a pilot or other safety system

If you are concerned about gas spillage, you could always purchase a separate CO or combustible gas detector
