Quite unusually cold temps this year.

May not need as much next year!

Just started my fourth ton. Gonna do some test burning to finish the year with a bunch of different brands.

Would be hitting on the 4th ton this coming week if I had not went and got 90 bushels of corn today. Will be blending close to 50% I hope. Weather prediction of for the next week that may not get above 0.Probably no school for Monday(high of -10) and Tuesday.

Down to around a ton. Have started picking up 10 bags at a time if I go by lowes/hd to make it to the end of the season.

Started off with 4 tons.

Less than 1.5 ton left. Will buy more over weekend. Amazed at how fast we're chewing through pellets this year with 2nd stove and these cold temps.

Was down to 14 bags...just scored some Okanagan DF's to hopefully take me on thru!!!!

Burn Baby Burn:cool::cool:

Burnt 2.5 2.5 left right where I should be

When my neighbors are telling me their spending $500-$600 a month on oil keep their temp on 68. I guess I can 't complain since I haven't used an 1/8 of a tank yet and my temp is 71-74.

Laughing all the way to my pellet stash!

Just went over the 7 ton mark, but I've been burning since August.

Yes your temp is that in the room the stove is in, there homes are 68 every room, mines 73 in living room where stove is, next room over is 61 in the dining room, colder in kitchen

Burned about 3 tons so far. At $220/ton from Lowe's and home depot it isn't hurting as bad as natural gas was last year. Burned zero gas this winter!

You have Natural Gas and it is more expensive than pellets?

What do you pay for NG?

I've always started the season with 3 tons and have always had pellets left over. Down to 1 ton now. Going on a pellet hunt today. Usually start the stove part-time in Sept then it's 24/7 in Nov. till spring.

Just started my third ton. This is the first year I started with 5 tons. I thought I'd have a lot left over, but probably not. This year I'm glad I have an over-sized stove for my house, and what I thought was more pellets than I needed.

It's not the cost of the gas but the efficiency of the furnace.

I have an old gravity furnace. Originally coal fired, converted to oil in the fifties or the sixties and then to gas in the seventies or eighties. It could heat a factory if I could afford to feed it.

Think about the monster furnace in the movie Home Alone. That's mine ;)

Around $5k to $6k per year in gas.

Eta: the dates cast into the coal door are late 18xx if memory serves.

Just about three tons in. I'll start my fourth ton later next week. Got three tons of Barefoots and 20 bags Okies left. I should be set. :)

just di a count, I have 2 tons, 10 bags left, I started the season with 5.5 tons. so 3.3 down.
by my estimation, I will be out by mid march @ 2 bags a day/
crap, I have never been short. now I have to take whatever is available @ whatever they want to **** me for them.

Burned about 3 tons so far with the PF 100 keeping the whole place at 68 degrees.

My house is very open. The room with the stove in it is 72, kitchen and dining room is 70, furthest point down stairs is 67.

Upstairs is about 65.

Pretty even in my opinion.

Still under 1.5 tons so far. Seem to be burning less this year as I fixed some major drafts and hung insulated drapes over two picture windows and the sliders. Small house, good insulation.
I noticed that my favorite SC and FSUs are gone from the HDs in my area. I usually pick up a ton in March to finish off the spring shoulder season and begin the fall shoulder season...my list of choices has gotten much smaller....

I've burned 110 bags of 100% softwoods, and have 110 bags left, so it will be close for me, too.

Just bought my 5th ton today. Have burnt 2.5 so far that should get me through april.
