Oh not this chit again, how much wood ya burned this season?

Sorry, but I gots to know. Im running a BK princess and an Ashford 30 in Michigan. lit em up around the middle of October, Ive gone through not quite 3 cords, probably closer to 2 1/2 cords

It is still shoulder season on long island. I think it was 50 for xmas. Been burning the BK on low since September. I have been processing wood off and on, and have used about negative 0.5 cords net.

Hoping to be up a cord by the end of the winter!

As near as I can figure I’ve gone through 116 Cubic feet of Aspen, 56 Cubic feet of Tamarack, 20 Cubic feet of Pine and 25 Cubic feet of ash/oak. Started “taking the chill off” end of September close to full time end of November.There calling for -32c/-25f tonight.

Probably about a cord, I recently started using my furnace for the heavy lifting when the temp was above 30F. Highest gas bill this winter $65. I'll save my good hardwood for when it's 10F for a high.

I've burned exactly 1.5 cord so far (Beech and Oak) with zero heating oil.
That's on the high side for this early in the year, I think it was a cold Autumn.

They don't really have winter or summer. We're at the same latitude as the middle of Iowa, but the locals tell stories in hushed tones of that one time in 1803 when it got to -10°F or +100°F.

Same basic weather as the middle of the country, but it doesn't get nearly as hot or cold. And hurricanes instead of tornadoes. I find hurricanes somewhat preferable because you know they are coming and can plan for them when buying or building a house.

One time it snowed 18" in one day, and it broke all the records and shut down the whole island. A few hundred miles away in Buffalo they call 18 inches "tuesday".

The natural gas furnace had gone on three or four times. It's set at 60° for the cat.

We had a few weeks of fridged here in November- early December.

Maybe 20 pieces of oak, 20 of ash, 20 of pithy hemlock, 20 of walnut. Steady stream of tulip poplar loaded 2-4 times per day.

The Great Wall of Wood is shrinking. How many cords? Who can say?

I’d say about 1/3-1/2 a cord. Obviously not my primary heat source. Just started consistently burning 24/7 within the last few days. Have a cord of well seasoned ash I’ll be digging into probably next weekend. Getting excited for that over the black walnut/cherry/pine mix I have been burning. If anything it’ll mean a lot less ash as I’ll rotate the BW out for awhile.
