Also i understand false economy in buying cheap buy twice sort of way. As we are in the south and the fire gets used for maybe 2 months, is the chimney really worth the extra outlay? ( do not mean to sound penny pinching but well..........guestures at life )

ok gotcha, is this connection ok where the stove meets the pipe? i feel i had a collar come with my old fire, but its been 10 years so maybe i was wrong. i just do not recall the old one sitting like this, it does feel snug but i thought id check.

So more hassle, 2 local general contractors are not interested in “ guessing “
Where beams are initially to cut a hole in the vaulted ceiling. On one hand this is frustrating as I’m upto my ears in stress as it is. On the other I guess I’m saving money by doing it myself, which is important as we have had more cancer treatment bills come in.
So it looks like I am going to have to drill a small hole in the pretty wood vaulted ceiling and use a snake camera I have here to hopefully see where the beams are. I fear the cavity between living space and outer roof is full of silver foil like material ( insulation I’m sure ) and I may not be able to see. I am sure I am building this up in my head to be worse than it is, I’m just overwhelmed.
Looks like we will have to go with the cheaper style so thinking this will be cheaper than buying parts separately? Or is that incorrect ?

I have one but it A maybe cheap old or both, or B it maybe a weird false ceiling as putting the ladders up the tongue and groove boards flex when pushed.
I’m just fried right now and desperately trying to get this in before the weather goes south.
Ground to a halt, as 2 builders/roofers didnt show up to get me a quote, but i did get some left over stone cheap and delivered free. so i spent a few days laying 4 layers of cement board, and ive literally just trimmed the last peice of stone for my redneck dry fit, i will have to add some little filler stones, but being as i only had 2 smaller slabs left im pretty happy with the look i guess.
i will be cement boarding the back wall and adding a veneer eventually. the outlet will possibly have to be moved to the right depending how far left of center i go with the stove.
then its back to the dreaded ceiling.
thanks again for the help this year and hopefully this is at a end early next year.

Back again for advice, i bought the 6dp-ktup ( 1st photo ) kit as 1 we simply cant afford the more expensive version and 2 the incoming freeze for the south. im low key panicking now to get this in , in a week. the hearth will be cured enough to put the stove in its final position friday, then i can try to do the roof myself as i have had no luck getting anyone in for a quote.
as i have the DVL double wall stove pipe would i be right in thinking i need the DVL6 adapter to go from the double wall pipe to the transfer box?

In my experience the chimney pipe adapter is the same, no matter of the stovepipe is single or double wall...but maybe that's brand/model dependant?

dammit youre correct ( figured you were which is why i was worried ) i just looked again and that part is missing, i mistook it for the chrome insert that goes inside the single wall part, totally missing the DVL writing .

sorry its been a few weird days, single wall pipe adapter i meant, Tractor supply confirmed the part was missing, and their spare kit in stock....................... is also missing it sigh, they called to make sure it should be there, and it should be, so one is being shipped from the warehouse to me. now all i can do is wait . well after i finally move the stove onto the hearth tomorrow.
