Old Keg into wood burner?

I was just thinking about this and have no idea if it would work or not but can a beer keg be converted to use as a fireplace? I have seen keg barbecues but not a stove. I was thinking I could cut a door in the front and put a grill in for the wood to sit on then put a small vent valve on the bottom to adjust airflow. Then cut the top of the keg out for a smoke stack. Is it safe to have a fire using stainless though?

1.) Bring your old keg back and get the deposit
2.) Put the money from the deposit towards a new keg
3.) Tap new keg and put on ice or in kegerator
4.) Drink beer, stare at new keg and really think this thing over

If you are near Richmond, sell the keg to me, I'll use it to brew beer and we can sit around and drink it while we come up with a better idea.

Haha I love reading the comments on this thread. I see that as much as we love fireplaces, firewood, and heating with wood we still love our good old beer much more.
