On pellet stove over load!!!!

I have been reading for days on here and I am just as unsure of which stove to purchase as I was when I started
HELP
I have a 2000 sqft raised ranch that has electric heat. We have been heating with wood for the last 6 years. I am getting tired of stacking cord after cord of wood. we burn appox 6 cords a season since this is the only heat we use. Also I am getting tired of being cold in the mornings if the stove burns out over night. We have a vermont castings which is the BEST stove I have ever had. It is very efficient. We are going to continue use of our wood stove down stairs but want to switch to a pellet upstairs so we are not ice cubes when we wake up in the morning.
One of my requirements are appearance so I have looked at a billion stoves and I really like the enamel since this pellet stove will be slap dab in the middle of my living room. I am leaning toward the Lopi because of looks. But I do want this stove to work properly. ANY ideas would be helpful.
Oh I have a standard run of the mill functional pellet stove in our 2nd home please dont ask what it is I am not remembering but it is not self starting and it is UGLY. Not something I want in my living room. So I do understand the functions of a pellet stove I just dont know what to buy.

It is very hard for us to help you choose a stove that is pretty, since that is pretty subjective. Since dealer support is very important with pellet stoves, I would suggest visiting your local stove shops and see what they offer (it doesn't do much good for us to tell you to get a stove that no one supports in your area). Once you have narrowed it down to a few stoves come back and we can help you decide.

I am now looking at the Thelin Echo Any comments???? It is what I am looking for as far are apperance. Any reviews on this stove or this company would be helpful.

More details on what you are trying to heat and where will help. For good looks try the Quadrfire Mount Vernon or Castile. Or maybe a Harman XXV

I have had great experiences with the Thelin company (I had the Parlor 3000 and Gnome Pellet). They were always easy to reach and very responsive to questions that I had both through the phone and email. I realize the Echo is a new product, but if they place as much thought and support as their other products it should be a winner.

I also recently saw a Lopi product that I didn't know existed - similar to the Harman XXV (although I like the styling of the Harman better). The Lopi Leyden is shown below:

Safe, quiet, low maintenance operation would be my priority. Most pellet stoves are very efficient.

Rod, the Empress looks really nice. How is it for noise (say on medium) and maintenance?

I love my Empress. I find it to be pretty quiet. I know it is a lot quieter than the previous model (The Windsor).

It is easy to maintain and has very simple controls to operate. On/Off button with 5 levels of heat output. A button to make the auger feed and a slide damper control.

I think the stove looks great and it does a good job heating almost all of my 2100 sq. ft. home in northern Vermont.

OK I Looked at the Lopi it was about 1000 dollars more than the Thelin it also heated 1000sqft more than the Thelin but it is more stove than I need. As far as the Harman XXV I looked into it and was told by more than one dealer that they are going out of business and I wont get the service I should because of that reason. I only need to heat my upstairs with it which is 1000 sqft it will be in my living room so the look was important. Unlike my BIG UGLY totally awesome and efficent Vermont casting woodstove ( downstairs).
On another note....
I was also intorduced to the St Croix Hastings nice stove also.They are running a promo for free bricks and log with purchase not really a selling point for me but I thought I would throw it out there. Any comments on that one?

Of course your going to get a ton of different reviews.and none of them are wrong. Everybody wants to feel like they purchased the best stove they could for the money they spent.

Now, I always choose a different path. I talk to people who sell and fix stoves..washing machines fridges etc; Because they see what comes back what needs what type of repairs...cost of fixing 1 brand versus another.And of course web reviews if they exist.

Rod from climate control posted a message for ya..,talk with him if he is willing,and he usually is willing to be of help.
And of course other people that may have a business in this field from here.I say from here cause if you go to a stove store,they will tell ya want you want to hear to sell you their stove.On this site it isnt about selling a product its about helping one another.

I had the Windsor (the First Generation of the Empress) in my 1900 sq feet home for 4 seasons
worked great Easy to clean. My wife was pisseed when I put in the Omega because of the size but I think she will get over it.

The Empress has a few improbments over the Windsor.
Most cast stoves you are going to get a small hopper
the empress is 55#
they took some of the noise out of the blower by changeing the mounting and location of both blowers.
they gave the users air control so you can dial in the fire.
I have sold about 15 of the Empress freestanding and 5 insert.
I have sold about 40 of the Windsors.
No major problems.

The new Avalon or Lopi is a nice stove also. Still waiting for my Avalon to come to me.

All pellet stoves are going to be efficiant.
But you get what you pay for.
when looking at pellet stoves to sell the first thing I look for is the ease of operation
How easy is it to open the stove up and clean or repair part.
I have many scars on my hand and arms from working on stoves that are a pain in the a$$ to work on.
Like the theland, and the OLDER Breckwells.

I have not seen a New theland so Im not sure about it but my experience is that they shove everything in a small area and makes it hard to work on. They used to be a 12 volt system. I personally dont like 12 volt systems because it is hard to get parts for and they dont last as long as good ol 110 volt systems.

Reasons I changed to the Omega is to test the stove out before it is out in the market.
it has a 3 bag hopper
60K btu. (AES is heating their 60,000 sq foot warehouse with one.)
Large ash pan
Multi fuel self cleaning burn pot.
Im not going to clean it for 4 weeks and see what happens.

Well lets see there is palaceades on I believe rte 202 in torrington. I like brian at prospect country store in naugatuck....Of course you can go to deans stove & spa in plantsville/southington but there service I hear is horrible.Once you buy the stove forget about getting help and or repair service.

To be honest with ya..I have only bought used stoves..and before I buy 1 I ask Rod and Elk and post here to get opinions...I go by looks first.so if it looks good to me.then I asked hey..what ya think.

And as far as pellets.here in bristol we have bt enterprises...nothing but pellets and bio bricks.good prices and very good pellets.

Oh ya.Im old now.42 cant throw for sh*t...so dont worry bout any rocks comin ur way..lol

But my desk is accross from the stove and I have a 12" desk fan on top of a book case at the celing pushing the heat out of the room and down a 60 feet hall way down to our Love nest at the back of the house.
