Actually more like four steps. With the help of a friend, a tractor, a lever hoist, some ramps and gravity, the EKO 40 is off the truck and into the basement. Everything went according to plan... lifted the boiler off the truck using a 2" T on the top, then pulled it down the ramps, using the tractor as a brake. Door frame is 30 1/4" and the metal pallet is 29 1/2", so it was a tight fit. Once it was in the basement we jacked it up onto some dollys and rolled it over to its (near) final location.

I'm fortunate enough to have three flues in this house... first floor fireplace, basement fireplace and oil boiler. The previous owner had a wood stove in the basement back in the 1970s so I plan to drill out the thimble and use that.
