My brick is white, dingy on the fireplace, that the new Hampton insert is going into. Timberland Brown, enamel. I want to stain the brick. I am looking at products and it appears that you can use a stain/polyurethane mixture to stain it. Does it have to have a fireproof rating? Don't want it to ignite.
