Out with the old Buck, in with Englander 13

Well guys I'm heading to Lowe's to pick me up an Englander 13 that they have on clearance for $399. Blower is also marked half off as well. They're holding it for me so I'll be picking up this afternoon. Can't wait! I'm hoping to save a lot of wood with this over my Buck, as well as one that's better sized to my house at 1100 sq. ft.

One question, I heat 24/7 with wood (do have a gas furnace for backup but don't want to use), are these stoves ok for me to be using that much? Thanks

Yes, No problem with 24/7 use.
Some folks have Englander wood stoves for heating with no back up.

Awesome good to hear. Man I sure got a deal, went in there and told them I hadn't recieved my 10% off coupon I signed up for, and they just right then and there took off another 10%. With the stove and blower both being 50% off then another 10% I walked out of there tax and all around $446 bucks. Quite a good deal I couldn't pass it up. Just hope I get good enough burn times for overnight and while I'm at work.

Thanks to all on this site if it wasn't for this site I wouldn't have known of the good deals this time of year, or about Englander stoves. This site is great.

I too just bought an englander NC13 at lowes ... but mine was dented i n the rear so I paid 300 even for mine ! and fixed it in 5 minutes with a small pry bar and yes i just tried it the other day ,let me jsut say for its size this stove cranks out huge heat and when dampered down some will hold 450-500 degrees al l day on hardly any wood ,mine was still burning and had coals the next morning after a good 10 hours ,for the money you made out like a bandit .your going to love it,keep in mind it will take a learning curve to get controls and drafting technique figured out though

Wow sounds like you got a good deal too. Glad to hear you like it, I hear so many others that love these stoves. Really glad to hear about your burn times that is a big thing for me.

Yep I gotta learn all over again. I really had the buck figured out good and now I re-learn. It will be worth it though. Do you have the blower on yours? Also, what kind of wood are you burning?
