Question:

I am hoping to set up an outdoor firepit/fireplace in my back yard. I am concerned about an open pit, especially when it rains (I don't want soggy ashes). One possibility could be some type of a hearth fireplace, possibly freestanding, or built into a cabana?

Answer:

The new Mexican Chimeneas are outdoor fireplaces which are also very artful. They come in many different styles and finishes and are designed for outdoor burning.

Also, higher quality outdoor fireplaces are sold by the folks at http://www.outdoorfire.com
