We're thinking of buying a P61.Was looking @ the maintainence procedures .Manual says rear panels must be removed to clean out fines from pellet feed body.Wondering how much hassle & how much rear clearance form stove to wall would be sufficient.Hope some of P61 owners might be able to answer.Thanx
Brian

Hi, you just take off the lower right hand side panel. There is a small cover with a wing nut. Take off cover and vacum fines (sawdust) and your good to go. Very good stove.

+1
Helps if you have a flexible "extension" tube for your vac. I use a tapered "cone" nozzle with a piece of 3/4" ID tubing on the end. You can rig something up for less than $5

If the job takes you more than 5 min, you're doing it wrong.

I just did a full cleaning on mine a couple of days ago. Takes me about 40 minutes tops. About once a month. Daily cleaning- a minute or two to scrape the pot. Follow the manual specs for clearances and you'll be fine.

Really easy to maintain. You don't have to remove all the rear panels to clean, really just the bottom panels for a monthly cleaning. At the end of the season is tear it apart and blow out the dust.

45 minutes a month for a cleaning, and 5 minutes to scrape the pot every 3 days and the stove is happy. She'll let you know when she's not.

Outstanding! thanx for the info to all who replied. Now wifey says i gotta start savin' my pennies. Muchas gracias again guys!
