SW Conn.
Just wondering who has taken delivery of a stove they ordered in August. We're still waiting for ours and the shop in Conn. said no idea when they're due and even the PE factory can't give them even a rough time frame. Originally they said late Sept-early Oct. Now they're shrugging and saying all they do is get a notice maybe a few days before that a truck is due. Does this jibe w/ what others have experienced? Thanks.

Ordered mine in August, got it in six days but I live in BC. I have heard this is mostly a US NE issue. No idea why.

I bought my summit because they had it in stock. Tell me you did not pay up front for this stove?? IE you pay then they will order it?
I have not nor do I ever plan to prepay to get something ordered for me. I want to touch, see, feel ,taste, smell and what ever else is relevant to my purchase before I commit.

Sounds like my dad. If they showed him something on the sales floor and he bought one, that was the one he bought. Not one out of the warehouse or one to be delivered from somewhere else.

"sounds like my dad" I'm still that guy, as was my father. The sales people at large appliance stores always seem surprised when they say "we will deliver for free" and I ask them "how much do you charge to put this one in the back of my truck?" I've been told on more than one occasion that I could not have the one I'm looking at and I've thanked them for their time and started out the door only to be stopped and told I could indeed have that one. It's funny how that works.

I'm not that bad I will take one out of the back after seeing it is the same as shown on display.

I had ordered a T6 in September. Our distributer in Northern New England (Northeast Distributers in NH) originally said October, then November, then not sure. I gave up and found one in Canada. It seems PE was caught shorthanded with the big rush for woodstoves this fall.

Shorthanded in more ways than one. In the twice weekly local paper we get here-there is hardly ever a time when PE is not trying to hire workers. I have been observing this for almost a year now, and it seems that staff retention must be very problematic. Also thinking that they are probably supplying their long time distributors first-(the loyalty factor).

Between PE and ESW this forum has sold one hell of a lot of stoves in the last two years.

Craig should be on commission.

Insert ordered July 4th weekend, arrived end of August, installed mid September.

Sounds like the dealer I purchased from (Ashwood in Farmingville) was right.."order ASAP, what ever and from where ever, because there will be delays."

Eileen: Is that "dixie eyed hustle" anything like the Tennessee Waltz? Just asking, because the TW by Patsy Cline is my favourite song..

Enjoy winter kiddo-- it`s coming soon enough. :)

Depends on how "country", you wanna go

Short story.

Best bud has a horse named "Talk About Sonny", TAS for short. My mare is "Dixie Eyed Hustle". We're away at an APHA show, doing in hand classes (showing your horse from the ground, instead of riding him/her). Tas is being a seasoned 4 year old gelding. Cool as a cucumber.

Dixie, on the other hand is hand is a 2 year old filly, and really pushing her limits as to who is going to be the leader in our little herd of 2 :coolsmirk: She's dancing and prancing, and hoping she is the center of attention. I finally get her settled, and Janice looks over at me, as I wipe the sweat from my brow, hat in hand.

She say "Tired ? Hot?".

I say "Don't even. Your over there "Talking About Sonny", and I'm over here "Doing The Dixie Eyed Hustle" :coolmad:

It's stuck ever since, which is good. What's better is that Da Dix has finally grown up, and we have a mutaul admiration society going on these days

Totally so not wood related, LOL !!!

Oh wait, there are oak trees and pines in the back ground !!!

:-)

Thanks for the info Eileen: we don`t have horses ourselves. but you would love it here. Cobble Hill is called "Horse Country" in this area. No kidding, more horses than people. Take care, and good to talk to a lady for a change--kinda warms up the place a bit :)

and good to talk to a lady for a change

Why, thank you, kind Sir.

Now I gotta go clean out the puppy kennel, he made a mess ;-P

T6, ordered late july, installed in sept.

North East Distributer is BAC Sales

No way I didn't pay for it, just gave a $250. deposit -- which they say is refundable. And yes, after the dealer said he had no clue when it would be in, I got the name of the NE dist. BAC and called them Friday after calling PE and getting the "you'll have to contact the dist." line. So I called BAC and guess what? They said I need to call the dealer! Can you say run around? I'm calling a local dealer for Avalon on Monday, he said he had Olympics in stock a while back so, maybe. The thing that I wonder about is how does a company do business when they can't even give an approx. time window for goods? Absurd.

I have also noticed that some stoves have reps posting on here from time to time. Is there a PE person about?

Of, and curious, is thread drift here such that threads usually go astray w/ horse tails and old yarns? Reminds me about the time I bought a crate of lemon from a used car dealer and it was full of rattles. Sour deal.

That definitely sucks. If no Avalon, maybe call Tom at www.chimneysweeponline.com and order one?

You might also try forum member jack from BAC to get past this runaround.

Thanks, appreciate that. I will try Jack on Monday.

So out of curiosity I called Tom. Nice fella. Right off the bat he knew what kinda time frame they were on and when to expect a new order (he had none in stock of course). So my question is, why does the factory have nothing to tell a customer w/ a standing order and why is the dist. -- and my dealer-- so unable (or unwilling) to offer the same info?

I've discovered, being in electronic repair & service, that there is little to no communication between consumer relations and the service end of a manufacturing business. Worse when CR is out sourced to India or somewhere.

Have you tried some dealers in NY? Either just over the border, or down here on the Island? If you'd be picking it up yourself, the ferry ride is pretty fair $$ & time wise.

Did ya want to squeeze his neck, and beat the pulp out of him? I'd have had an acidic taste in my mouth
;-)

I ordered a T6 from Tom on Sept 10th. He told me it would be in in mid October. Guess what - it was in in mid October!! He was good on his word!!! Very helpful too!

It is currently in transit from Tom's business to my home (Washington state to Indiana) - should have early this week - unless one of u guys rob the truck now that the cat is out of the bag!

PE Vista insert ordered in July, installed in September, burning in October!

BB is an ESW man!

I thought BB was the one that was proud of his T6. Must have been one of the other oldbies,

Nope. Haven't found a good reason to downgrade from the 30-NCL.
