Pacific Energy t5 burns too quickly

The pictures help. The stove pipe temps are nuts. Hope it's the thermometer.
It looks like the wood is stacked somewhat randomly in the stove. I see some top pieces at an angle. The fire will burn slower if the pieces are put in parallel with little air space between the splits. This is a full N/S reload in the T6.

A bit late to the party, but that picture of the glowing coals tells me there was a leak in the ash door. Happened to me once, learned my lesson fast. Make sure the door is fully closed and the opening fully covered with ash.

Yes, it's easy for a piece of charcoal to get stuck there holding the ash trap door open a little.

I have the same issue on my stove and from what I see on here many pe owners have hot flue Temps.
My flue sits around 900 and can climb to 1200 on start up and reload. My dealer said the same thing - it's working properly. My door seal was a bit loose though. Tightened it up.

They said it's best to put a small amount of steel wool in the bottom air intake below the ash pan. They said my thermometer was most likely 200 over what is shown.

There is no point in me doing a top down fire cause the flue Temps skyrocket and I can't turn it down cause it's just burning on top.

I could go on.

PE stoves breathe real easy. You may have too much draft depending on exterior temps and chimney height. A key damper helps me out when temps dip way down.

The dealer advised against it. Might try the steel wool in the air intake.

Gonna try tomorrow. Got some maple and birch in there now. Not a full load and it's cruising at 1100°

Reburn in full effect but just not economical. I want longer burns. I might reach out to PE as well.

If the flue system is taller than 25 ft it's going to need a key damper to tame the draft and I would also block off the boost air port.

would a magnet seal it better?

It’s a small circular hole under the front lower grill. It’s maybe a half inch from memory. You can access it by removing the grill/shield in the firebox or from underneath.

In my experience it doesn’t do a lot. But it makes the damper control more sensitive.

My installer took the time to show me how to close the ash door lever completely---He said that people often leave it slightly open by accident, letting in too much air and causing over fire. I don't even use it. I just shovel the ash out of the fire box. Much cleaner.

On my SIL's 2019 T5, you have to jiggle it a bit and make sure the spring slides it all the way back into the locked position, where if you twist the handle, it won't open. Not sure if the LE has the same setup, but I think it probably does..

If it's the same setup with the ash door as the T5, I can feel the door plate, aided by the spring, slide back in a groove into the locked position, assuring that it is closed. You might be able to look from underneath to confirm this.
