Paint flaking off Jotul

My folks are in their third year with their Jotul F3. They've been super happy with it. Yesterday, my mom mentioned that she noticed a spot where the paint was flaking off the stove and that she was able to pull some more off with her fingernail. See the attached pic in the upper left-hand corner where it looks a little worn. I'm not sure they have ever brought this stove up over 400-450 degrees. Could this be a curing issue? The stove is not abused in any way. Just curious if this is common.

It happens occasionally. A quick steelwooling of the area, clean and then touch up paint will make it look like new.

Typically this is caused by a little bit of furnace cement that got on the iron during assembly. In turn, the paint covers but later releases when the stove gets hot. Touch it up with Stove Bright flat black paint. That's the color and brand that Jotul uses.

From the looks of that glass I'd say it's never been over 450!
