Still learning and loving this stove! 15 degrees out this morning and woke up to a 72 degree first floor and 69 on the second floor. Been hooked on this thing since I began burning it. Haven't watched TV in two months... LOL Instead I veg out on that couch to the right and stare at the stove until I fall into a heat induced coma and my wife wakes me up at 2am to go up to bed. Thermostats are still in the off mode and haven't used a drop of oil for heat yet this season. Hopefully I can keep that up the rest of the winter!

beautiful setup

Same here. My DVR in the basement is full. I spend all my time upstairs sitting with the wife and kids in front of the fire. Who would have thought that a wood stove would lead to more quality time with the family.:)

Good choice, and congrats. Enjoy the sweet heat she puts forth!
I personally leave my oil furnace thermostat on set at 58 night & 62 day, just as back up. Never goes on these days, unless I turn it up to test occasionally just to make sure the furnace still runs.
I leave it at on set with the low temps, just in case.
At the very least, turn the thermostat up a couple times a year of so, just to make sure the furnace is still in working order.
One year mine would not turn on, and had to replace a nozzle , clean the electrodes, replaced the catseye, etc. routine maintenance.

my oil guys hate me. in 20 years, I've probably only gone through a tank or two of oil. they come every year and top off and I get a bill ranging from 60-150 dollars. it depends on when I start burning full time, which is normally after thanksgiving.

sweet setup. the stoves are addicting. I ended up putting a tv in my stove room because I didn't want to leave the room anymore. haven't spent time in the family room in months.

Ha, I did the same thing, I spend 90% of my time in the stove room from Nov til March, very relaxing on a cold day to sit near the stove and veg out.

Thanks guys! My wife has been asking me the last couple weeks if we could put a TV in the room. May end up doing that.

Thanks Hog. As for the heat, the boiler is still running occasionally to make my hot water so it is still getting use. I just did a filter, nozzle and strainer replacement as well as gave the thing a solid cleaning back in October so I'm good for the season. I think when the real cold sets in I may have to keep the t-stats set to at least 62 as Im not sure how the stove will keep up with that sustained cold. May need to help it along. So far though, even on the couple single digit nights we had here a couple weeks back, it's been solid!
