It seems around my area here in Ontario, Canada every TSC store with in a reasonable driving distance has no pellets for the past 2 weeks and are showing no delivery anytime soon. Lowes isn't getting anymore in and Home depot stopped carrying pellets at our location.
Rona has them put they are more of a shoulder pellet. Guess I'm going to rona tomorrow and getting another ton, seeing as the cold doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon. Double digit minus temps all next week.

Check the local lumber stores - some of our local ones carry pellets.

Where in Ontario are you - others in your area may have tips...

Shoulder pellets are better than no pellets:(

How are the Heartland pellets this season? I ask cause I went to buy another 10 bags, and they told me that the heartland that they had are a bit diffrent. There having problems at there plant. So there pellets are a blend of other softwood to meet up with demand. I didn't buy any cause the price was the same for a diffrent pellet.

They have been the same - but can't get any from the local supplier. I imagine they bought a bulk purchase at the start of the year. Likely increased demand because of the exceptionally cold year plus the NG shortage/line explosion upped that demand even more...I wonder how many pellet burners were installed in the region this year. Unfortunately my supplier replaced their supply with such an inferior pellet.

Got my pellets from Rona, I have to say I'm impressed with them heat output from the LG Granules. I tried these last season and they were cold and dirty.

I picked up my pellets at Gildale Farms, just outside St. Mary's on Friday. The didn't indicate any issues with supply. (broken link removed)

Now, if only I could get the stove to work. *sigh*

I think the problem is really related to the reason you see Christmas goods before Thanksgiving, and Easter candy before Valentine's day. The distribution system for all goods has shifted and large stores, HD, Lowes, etc..have limited access to seasonal goods once the warehouses have shifted to the next "season".
