petty question about stovepipe collars

I have a 6 inch stovepipe, going into a hole in the wall that needs about an inch or two more than the standard stovepipe collar. Previous owner was a really nice guy, but he wasn't a mason and attention to detail was not his thing. The stove is going to work just fine, but the gaps in the brick, exposed because the collar isn't big enough... that's going to annoy me. I've done a bit of searching, but no luck yet. (Bummer, I just realized I'm not a "burning chunk" anymore.)
 
need to use a masonary Connector thimble.
Copperfield has them.

Im not an expert at this for we dont have this kind of chimneys
I only do full reline.
