Hello everyone, new here although I've been reading through the Piazzetta related posts for a while. I had a Piazzetta Sabrina installed earlier this year. I had the side cover off with the stove running, and saw the glow of the fire shining though a hole in the sealant where the pellet auger chute meets the fire box. I attached some photos. I was wondering if anyone else ran into this defect? I uploaded to photos, the dark one is with the lights off you can see the glow of the fire shining though the sealant gap. A dab of red high temp RTV should fix that. Your stove was built on a Monday or Friday at the Italian pellet stove factory....

Good catch!

Early last season, EastMtn, whom I haven't seen in these forums in a year, mentioned that he had an air leak around the chute. Of course, he was referring to the end of the chute, not the beginning. He sealed it with red high-temp, and recommended I do the same, which I did.

As PelletingNJ states, it could have been a Monday build or it could be shipping vibrations loosening the seal. Anyhow, a little red high temp should work. I'm going to see if I can see anything thru those curvy slits.

Okay, looked thru the slits in the sides and could see the chute, but no red glow.

chken, he had a leak where? where the auger motor is? I sealed it up with some red high temp rtv, should be good to go.
No, EastMtn thought he had a leak where the pellet chute reaches the backplate and empties into the grate. If you remove the backplate and look at the area around the chute, you may see a gap. EastMtn suspected there was an airleak coming from that space and filled it. He may even have a pic from the original thread, in late Fall 2013.
