Thanks, It took 4 guys 2 days to ripout old chimney, then it took my son and I 2 days to enlarge the headers, then a week to build the new chimney 34'. then 1 guy 2 weeks to do stonework

Thanks, no masons ripped out the chimney and rebuilt, we cleaned and did all carpentry work and designing

WE had 1 flue but it was in bad shape and the furnace was tied in to it. needed to relace anyway so we did 2 flues to have the stove

Bluestone hearth came from UBS builders supply in Westerly , R.I. I do not know cost of the blue stone but it is not too bad. the stne wall is granit and is about 12 dollars per sq. ft

Are you noticing a lot of heat absorbed from the stone mass and then re-radiated from it as the fire dies down?

My hinney wants to have a seat on that awesome stone after coming in from snow blowing the driveway...if I could chase away the pets. Super nice job.

Thank you, The stone does give of some radiant heat as the stove dies down, not as much as I thought it would but Were happy
