Ain't nothing like Ash Poles.....
My BIL had a guy over clearing some brush with his tractor.
I downed 2 Ash and had him drag'em out.....easy.
Note the nice cradle I had the nephew make.............

My pile of free btu's for next year.
Ash, Red Maple, Sugar Maple, SweetGum and Spruce.

We will ration the Hickory

I am surprised to hear about Sweet Gum in Connecticut. It is common in southern and central NJ and in parts of MD but never grows wild here in central PA. Are those wild sweet gums? Sometimes it is planted as a shade tree and maybe would spread to the woods.

Tall trees with no branches are the best.
