will this require an oval to round piece of pipe of is it an 8” pipe shaped to fit over the oval???

The circumference of an 8" pipe is 8 times 3.14, or close to 25 inches
Your oval is closer to 19", try a 6 inch pipe squashed.
The stove may have been sold with an oval to round adapter.

Old cook stoves typically use a 7” pipe that’s ovalized if I remember correctly.
