Picked this up last weekend and got it installed in my shop. Stove starts very easily, but I cannot maintain temps. For fuel I am burning 2.5 years split red oak. The stove in my basement is running same wood and maintains 450-500 on full load. I even tried burning some softwood in this stove, since it's in my garage and has a straight flue.

I am running a 6 inch pipe from stove about 2' long, then a 6 to 8 inch adapter, 2' of 8 inch stove pipe, then two sections of 8 inch Class A chimney. I feel like I have plenty of draft. I can load this stove up, get her hot, and after shutting the door I can almost watch the temp gauge drop. There is only one air intake on front of door. It's a slider that just moves a plate along a series of holes. Even at wide open, the fire dies out. At first I thought it was a coal issue, since it is a large stove. I accumulated a thick coal bed for almost 2 hours and still no real difference when loading it up.

So what stove is this?
Any ideas, opinions, mods, or recommendations?
Thanks

Is there a UL label on back?

No labels anywhere from what I can see. Might have to remove the heat shield to be sure.

Just a guess, maybe a Haughs?

The 8" can't be helping with a 6" design. I'd kill the fans on the pipe as well if you are losing draft/fire. Cooling the exhaust will slow your draft I am thinking.
