Poly on wood floor and firing up stove?

We have not been burning our stove the last week or so due to nice weather. We have been installing our plywood floor and are now ready to poly it. The temps are suppose to get down tomorrow. We will be done with poly today and wont need fire till tomorrow morning. Should have about 12-14 hours or dry time between. Is there any danger in the fumes that we will have by then and starting a fire? I will keep fans going and probably a window open or two!

If you are running fans to move out the fumes I don't think there is much danger of an explosion after 12 hours of drying. However, if it was me I would wait at least one more day to assure safety. Is this floor you are finishing in the stove room? If so, I wouldn't want to be walking on a freshly finished floor just 12 yours after applying the finish. It takes a lot longer than 12 hours for the finish to harden up to the point where it won't be damaged by being walked on. Good Luck.

you could poly a piece of scrap wood, and keep it in the same room. Then when you are ready to light up the Woodstove take that piece outside and see if it ignites very easily. It will give you an idea if it's still off gassing or if not cured yet.

It's really damp around here, some of the drywall I plastered yesterday is still soft to the touch. If it's the same for you it may take longer then normal to for the poly to cure.
