I called about a CL ad for Elm trees. Sounds like a tree service is biding on removing 20 or so Elm trees and will give me all the wood I can haul.

Pretty sure I got elm on a scrounge last summer. Fresh cut, heavy. Rounds were a little tough to split in half, but after that, they weren't that bad. It did not season as quickly as ash, cherry, walnut and silver maple. I had to use it before it was ready, and it was a little tough to light compared to the other species of the same vintage. But I would take it again if it was in front of me.
