So I got a chimney brush and extension rods last year and cleaned my flues, 3 total. It was not so bad, made the shoulders burn a little, but I think I did a good job.
Anyway, I was thinking this year what would happen if a rod broke? That sounds like a disaster to me. I don't think how my chimney is designed I could get anything from below. When I went to clean the bottom of the chimney last year (which I spent a lot of time on) I think there may be spilled mortar at the bottom, not creating a large enough area for me to get it.
I haven't looked at my brush in a bit, but I think it may have a ring? I could secure a line to it?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
