Hi i had a new jotul 602 woodstove put in my finished basement with an exterior double wall stainless chimney. it works great for heating my small home. but when i'm not using it i get a giant draft coming out. it makes my whole house smell like the inside of a chimney and i can see the wind coming out when i hold a lighter in front, it brings more cold in than i wanted. is there something i should do or am i stuck with it...

Basements can be notorious negative pressure zones. Windows open upstairs, exhaust fans, clothes dryer, bath fans, all create negative pressure in the basement. Also if there are competing devices like a gas hw heater or a furnace pulling air from the basement, this may reverse draft.

Sometimes this can be corrected by adding an outside air supply to the competing device, like a furnace. As a test, if possible, try opening a nearby basement window or door an inch and see if your lighter test reverses and is sucked into the stove intake. If so, adding an outside air kit to the stove may help.

The problem can also be an issue of the chimney location.
