Propane prices

Im a big wood burner here in southwest Missouri. I burn around 8 or nine cords of wood per year. I did want to report that I called to check on propane prices. They were 1.44 a gallon. WE still have a gas hot water heater and a propane fireplace insert for electric power failure backup. I told them to come fill my tank. It may last me a couple years since I dont use as much. Whats prices in other areas of the country?

Is that 8 or 9 face cords? It sounds like an awful lot of wood to me if it is full cords.

Its full cords. I have an OWB to heat a 3600 sq ft house. I have a jotul 450 insert and an englander free standing stove in my 1500 sq ft shop.

Yikes! Heating over 5,000sq.ft with wood. I would take advantage of the low propane prices to take a small break.

Just got a flyer in the mail, $1.19 per gallon for propane, in mn

That's paid with cash, otherwise $1.29 if paid on credit. And this is not a pre buy.

Price is slightly better than what I recently paid . . . I was paying $3.85 a gallon. I think I may have to start thinking about buying my own tank and shopping around. I'm pretty much using it only for heating up the domestic hot water and running the oven.

We have propane up here in the Colorado Rockies (nearly 9000 ft. elevation) and yesterday was quoted $1.68. I kind of like the $.99 price; think they would deliver?

Likewise, though just for comparison I called up a friend that lives about 70 miles to the north of us in Skagit county. He says he sees $1.59 prices advertised there. Like I said, we are controlled by a monopoly called Suburban.

Haven't heard yet, but based on previous years' behavior I will be very surprised if the propane vendors get below $1.59 or so for summer fill. They are all in cahoots around here. My provider should be sending me a letter soon

I paid $1.49 for 100ish gallons in early May, but I pay a premium for the light delivery. My sister got 500 for $1.24. We both own our tanks.

My tank was dry and I was running off 20 pounders until the price came down. I figured I better have some in the tank for the inspection, but I won't be buying any more. Moving in two weeks.
