Hope someone can help? I just purchased a new Heatilator PS50 pellet stove and it does not seem to feed enough pellets. Does not even cover 1/4 of the bottom of the burn pot, so after it drops the initial pellets it does not get hot enough to drop more pellets to start. I have to hit reset two times to get more pellets to startup. Once it is started and the feedgate is full open on high you can barely see any pellets in burn pot. You can see most of the holes in the bottom of the burn pot. Stove never seems to get very hot, even on high. You can touch the top of the stove and leave your hand there for a while. My friend bought same stove, at the same time and at the same settings his burn pot is full of pellets, with good flame and you cannot touch the top of stove. His burns much hotter! My door is tight. When I plug stove in the blue light on the controlbox blinks 4 times. I have only burned about 3 or 4 bags since install. Venting is a "T" out of back, 4 foot up, 90, 1 foot horizontal to open air. 4" pipe and I am in Colorado. How do I get more pellets to drop? Any help is appreciated!

i know the control box can be set to increase the drop rate for special circumstances. but i think that is only for during the running cycle.
it's used for high altitude conditions. but even though you are in colorado, if your buddy has the same stove working on factory settings, i would leave the box alone to start with.
as i said, i'm not sure that adjustment even affects the initial start up drop.
it seems unlikely since your stove is so new and you've only burnt a few bags, but the upper opening of the auger channel where it empties into the drop chute could be partially blocked.
i had dust accumulate and effectively shrink the opening on my PS50. but that took a long time to happen.
i finally had to blow it out using a section of hose.
as i said, it's unlikely (but not impossible) that this is the problem. but you could try the usual un-jamming method of poking a coat hangar wire up from inside the fire box to see if you can work anything loose.
and you will see some pellets drop when doing that even if there isn't any obstruction.
mostly i'm just replying to bump you up the page so others may see your post.

Keep us updated. There's a small but handsome group of cab50 owners here and your solution could help one of us down the line.
Called the manufacturer and they told me to adjust the controlbox setting from 4 to 5. I did this and it seems to drop a few more pellets. Does anyone know how many pellets you should be able to see in the burn pot? Should you be able to see most of the air holes in the bottom of the pot?

yep. the holes should be visible in my experience.
ideally, i like it set so the coals reach even with the lower rank of holes after they get built up.
so the air is just blowing through and keeping the holes uncovered.
on start up it's less. just filling the bottom flat area and barely coming up the angled face.
as long as you get proof of fire and it starts dropping more.

Never paid attention. I go by flame height.

Sorry, didn't see your response. Heat did get better. Also installed ceiling fan. Running fan on low in reverse seems to be helping get heat all around room.
