Well, I did it! I've been looking for a pellet stove for quite some time and I finally bought one. I was really really considering the Castle Serenity, but I think it was just a bit too small for my needs. So I've been watching craigslist like a hawk for the last few weeks and I think I did ok. I got a used Harman accentra with over 5 feet of pl pipe and 2 elbows for 800.00. The stove is a 2003, I know that sounds really old but it was only actually used for 6 years, and at that it just heated the basement. It was in his home but he was away on a permanent assignment for 3 years, there was a few years it was warm and they didn't burn it at all. I'm a tech by trade, it looks in great shape, clean, quite, could use some paint but otherwise good...no rust on it...even the chain drive. So how did I do?
!LOL) I plan on going over the stove really well while it's in my garage before she comes inside. I'd like to paint it but the wife thinks it's "fine" the way it is..hmmmmm..well see
. I plan on giving it a good hot stove temp burn while it's still outside, especially if i paint it, let her fume off and such. I'm itching to get it done but I'm stuck 5hrs from home till the weekend. FWIW they were asking 1000.00 for it originally, so I'm happy. And if anybody is interested he has a PF-100 that he's asking 1500.00 for, located near shinglehouse PA. ( msg me and I can fwd his number to you) He's in his 70's and can't haul pellets anymore..switched to gas to save his legs.
