Quadrafire Castile

Hello, my Quadrafire Castile has been acting a little strange lately. Sometimes when the thermostat calls for heat and the stove wants to light, it start making a clicking noise, it use to just click once and start up. But now it's clicking several times like it's struggling to make a connection or something. It still lights, but something is not right. Also, Im pretty sure a few time I heard it click after it was burning like in was going into start up mode again, and I'm pretty sure it did, cause it seemed to be over fired for a little while.

Any thoughts?

What are you using for a t-stat?

I'm using the standard Quadrafire t-stat, no batteries. I did check the connections at the back of the stove. I also pulled and replace the computer a couple of times to clean the cantact there. I thought that fixed it after doing that, it seemed fine for about a week but it just happend again last night.

I would double check connections on tstat wires at both ends, and hopefully you always unplug stove before removing or installing the control box. I would also check connections on reset button(with stove unplugged), and make sure the vac switch hose and nipple on drop tube are clear, as well as maybe having to remove the vac switch and tipping it upside down and gently shaking it to see if there is any buildup of fines in it. I would make sure wire connections on vac switch are making good contact(with stove not calling for heat). How is the door gasket? is exhaust path clear? Reason I ask is the vac switch could be clicking on and off if having issues with a vacuum in firebox. kap

As loose connection at either end or a worn spot in the wiring (I've seen some strangely routed wiring). The other thing is if the t-stat finds itself in a draft, it can change state too frequently.

Yes, the stove was unplugged when I removed the control box. I did have a problem with vacuum last year. I replaced the door gasket and the gasket around the burn pot, and that seemed to fix that problem, It would start up and establish a fire and then stop feeding pellets. I drew a little vacuum on the hose and heard the auger start running so I new it had a vac a leak.
