Currently have painted brick around my Clydesdale 4891. We are toying with the idea of doing stucco over the brick but am worried about potential high heat.

Is this possible to do?

As long as only non-combustible materials are used it's ok to do this.

I have no experience in this area but would think that most stucco will work. It's basically white Portland cement. Be careful if lightweight additives are added. Pumice is fine, styrofoam is not. For a good job it's the prep and bonding to the brick that is important.

This product claims to be good for higher heat applications.
