Has anyone raised the height of their wood stove by placing it onto a platform of some type? My VC Resolute seems pretty low to the ground which requires quite a bit of bending over to deal with loading wood.
thanks,
JJ

When I installed my stove I built a raised hearth for it to sit on. I framed with 2x6 with plywood and cement board and covered in rock.

I fabricated a stand for my shops’s VC encore out of pipe and c-channel, then spray painted it flat back. I was doing this to keep the firebox above code height for a shop, but it’s worked out great and has the firebox at a nice height.

If you have the standard legs they are 6". If you have the short legs they are 3" At least that is for the older models. If you have short legs maybe find some online.

Many put them on stands. Concerns are safely getting it up onto the platform and building it so there’s the correct insulation for the hearth. Some stoves require more insulation than others.

I used cinder blocks on a concrete basement floor, aligning the holes to the adjacent mechanical room where I had a 10” fresh air intake to supply outside air to the furnace and natural gas hot water tank. I then covered the blocks with bricks.

I put mine on my hearth platform pretty easily. I lifted one side and put 2x wood under it, then lifted the other side stacking wood as I went back and forth between sides.

That's how they built the pyramids...one little lift at a time. I was wondering if one of those engine lifts would work? I think the feet of it would need to fit around the hearth or a huge counterweight.
