I bought this thing on ebay a couple of years ago.

We use it to avoid walking up the steps to the screen room staging area.

Unfortunately it's binding up at the drive rollers. Most parts are made of wood and steel The drive rollers are wood with steel guide flanges. The screws holding the flanges onto the ends of the wooded rollers have separated and bind up against the side structure.

Tore the rollers apart today.

Ugh I'm jealous. I was just looking today admiring my three holt hausens till I got to thinking where I have to move all that wood next winter. One of these would be clutch in moving those piles. My neighbor has one and his wood pile is as high as a two story house. Good luck fixing it back up

Thanks. The drive roller is wood with a layer of the same material as the belt overlapping it. It gives friction to drive the belt. Very old school design. There was a thru bolt under that layer that engaged the shaft. All square bolts. It was a job getting it apart. I decided to make a new roller from scratch.

Yeah but that's half the fun of dealing with antique machinery. After you fix it it will be that more gratifying to watch it work. Any info on the make of that conveyor so I can search for one myself. I love those larger wheels. Seems it would be easier to push around with them
