The Regency F2400M came with the option of either a traditional door with coil spring handle or a contemporary door with a contemporary handle. The contemporary handle consists of a cast iron handle that is made to be slipped on and off each time the door is opened or closed. If left on while the stove is running, the contemporary handle gets extremely hot and requires gloves to touch.

I recently purchased a second hand 2017 Regency F2400M with the contemporary door and contemporary handle for my cottage. The handle looks nice but it was confusing and potentially dangerous for anyone not familiar with the stove.

As a result, I ordered a Regency traditional handle with coil spring as a replacement from a local stove dealer. I can confirm that it's fully compatible with the contemporary door. I found this handle to be a much better choice as it's a normal handle that doesn't require any extra steps to use.

The manual doesn't state that the handles are interchangable and I couldn't find any info online. Thought I would share here in case anyone else ever ran into this issue and was wondering.

I fear Removable handles will go live the 3 out four tv remotes I can’t find.

True dat! There is a good market for replacement VC stove drop handles.

I am about to change my remote to my mantle. That would probably work for the handle too.
