greetings
i have a regency 2400 which i inhereted with the house. inserts generally have sucky efficiency but it heats my house well enough. i also inhereted a big free standing regency that is in my basement/shop. i notice that when i close the draft on the free standing stove, the flame really diminishes and i get great sweeping blue secondaries. but when i do the same on the insert, it only marginally diminishes the flame. my overnight burn times SUCK cuz it won't shut down adequately. i'm warm as hell but burning waaay too much wood.
my question:
is there a way to get to the draft rod/paddle to see if its warped or adjustable?
appreciate any insight on this
