Fallon man dies cutting a tree in Lyon County


WELLINGTON (AP) — Lyon County authorities say a Fallon man was killed while attempting to cut down a large cottonwood tree in Smith Valley.

Deputies say 34-year-old Shawnee Zousel died Tuesday when a large limb snapped and pinned him against the trunk.

When rescuers found him, he was about 15 feet off the ground. Zousel was pronounced dead at the scene.
