removing top of Jotul F500v3

loosened the two 3mm set screws, now trying to remove the 2 inside 10mm nuts.
left side is super tough, think my socket slipped on it and I'm afraid to try further as I may end up stripping it.
the stove is 5 years old.
I want to remove the catalytic combustor to thoroughly clean it.
any ideas?

yep.
the right side now also won't move but less than a quarter turn.
guess I don't remove the top.
if I ever need to replace the combustor, I'm fucked.

tried acetone with penetrating oil... if it breaks off, that'll suck.
giving up.
cleaning the combustor by sliding in a wood food skewer through each honeycomb, at least until I cramp up and only the majority I can access.

considering dumping this stove for a less maintenance menace.

Can you get a small vise grip in there?

I wish Jøtul would inform folks to remove these bolts when they install the stove for easier maintenance.

possibly... but I don't think i'm gonna mess with it... just continue to clean it once a week.
only problem is when/IF it gets extremely cold for days, I like to keep it going day & night...

I called the joint that sold me the stove, and the guy was as helpful as spork in spaghetti.
in fact, he said the combustor is held in place by two clips and slides out easily. 🙄

If you can get a small soldering propane or map gas torch in there you could try applying a decent amount of heat to it then try to break it lose

Perhaps not, however, I’ll check it every week.
I don’t burn anything but hard woods, no paper, pine or anything that could contribute to it.
I just wanted to remove it to clean it real well after five years of use.
