Need a little advice on 1st time bypass gasket replacement on BK Ashford 30.

Looking for anyone who wouldn't mind sharing advice on scraping/removal of bad gasket.
Surface prep for new one.
But I'd especially like any advice on laying new gasket.... how loose, pull a little tension etc.
Where do have gasket ends rest. Like on loading door you put ends down in the bottom of the door.

Any help would be very appreciated as we have a huge storm coming into the PNW in a few days!

Thank you in advance ☺️

The incoming storm is a Pineapple Express, nice and warm but tons of rain.

Why do you think you need to change the bypass gasket? If you insist on it then I would pay attention to the old gasket and put the ends in the same place. Also do not stretch or bunch the new gasket, just lay it in. Use BK gasket and the special cement.

Also don’t forget to loosen the bypass plate tension with the bolt.

Really though, this gasket is not that important. If it passes the dollar bill test I’d just run it.
