Hi folks.
My Trueheat factory fireplace needs new refractory panels and the only option is generic replacement refractory panels (for example from Hargrove). The dilemma I am facing is that the original bottom panel and back panel are 1 1/4" thick (original left and right side panels are 7/8"). I can only find the Hargrove panels locally and the label on them says for use in replacing up to 1" thick panels.
Hargrove, also says their panels are good up to 1900 degrees, I would imagine these new panels ae of higher quality than the ones manufactured back in 1986, but who knows?
Do you folks think there is an issue in the 1/4" difference?
If so, any ideas short of replacing the fireplace?
Stacking them to 2" thickness may be an issue on the bottom panel.......
Thanks,
Scott
