i have acquired a resolute acclaim, model 0041, serial wh12167, mfg. date 12 33, seems to be in decent shape, missing front & back grates, and the andirons, would it be worth the price of these parts,$140. Or so together this running again? What is the combustion package and is it worth $200 to replace it, nothing invested in stove so far, what do you recommend, thank you

0041's sadly are junk. Acclaims can be great stoves under the right conditions, but the oldest ones can not be repaired cost effectively any longer. Scrap iron seems to go about $100.00 a gross ton these days, so not a total loss!!

Refractory package failures and fireback warpage are probably the most common issues. Often the beginning failures of the refractory package can lead to overheating another area causing cracking or warping. You would be far better off locating an older Resolute I, II, or III in good condition if you love this model.

Look at the inside sides. You'll see the head of a bolt dead center on each side. Bet you a Canadian Loonie that there are cracks radiating out from these bolt heads...

To replace these warped and cracked sides requires a complete rebuild with a parts kit to update it to the more recent model 2490, a better design. It'll end up costing close to $2000.00 including everything.

Not good!
