Subject says it all ..spent all day plumbing in a kick space heater under the kitchen cabinets...tough place to work, but after about 75 connections with 3/4 copper, no leaks...BUT, as it turns out I plumbed the supply to the return, and the return to the supply, DUH!.

Unit is running, and throwing out heat, but is it necessary to fix it? What will change if I re-plumb it?

I think it will effect the thermostats ability to turn on the fan. Does the fan seem to work properly? If the fan is working and it is throwing heat I wouldn't worry about it

It is not worth changing. It'll be fine.
