Question:

I have used Safety Flue crystals for 18 years for creosote. Now a friend tells me he has used rock salt in his woodstove for 20 years. for creosote reduction. Have you ever heard of this? Does it do the same as Safety Flue?

Answer:

It's not good for the chimney or the stove.....Use the commercial chemical which is non corrosive
