Ive been running my Harman p61 with out the external temp sensor. This is in stove mode. I'm just using the numbers and setting it according to the outside temp. If I need more heat I turn it up, less turn it down. I thought the temperatures on the dial were only for room mode. I didnt have an ignitor at the time so I never used it on room mode.

Just reread the manual, it agrees with what I'm saying after just reading another article saying it will attempt to keep the temperature steady using the external sensor. ?????

Probably referring to the stove temp not the room temp, I know it doesn't change the room temp unless the outside temp changed.
