I got my SBI probe thermometer today. It says to mount it at least 18" above the stove top. My Harman TL300 book says to mount a surface mount thermometer on SINGLE wall pipe 12" above flue collar.
What would you guys do? I have double wall. I doubt 6" matters too much but would you go closer to 12 or 18? or split the difference?
