Those are excellent. Been wanting one for a couple years. Awesome for ripping square timber in framing. Also nice for cutting stringers in stair building. Both stringers can be clamped together and cut accurately.

I'm more interested in ripping square timber. Kits are available if you already have a worm drive skillsaw.

I think I’ve seen small kits for regular circular saws at harbor freight.

Here it is!

I have an electric chainsaw. Do these special saws make good cuts? I guess if you want to cut a 16x16 post you need something big. I saw at a mine once where they had an oversized makita circular saw for cutting shaft timbers.

The kits scare me more for some reason. You can get bolt on guides for chainsaws. My results were not good. But I only spent $40

I’ve never used one, couldn’t say! I imagine they cut well enough. The circular saw would provide a good enough fence so you could focus on keeping the saw straight in the line without having to lift the weight.
