Like the casting says on the side, it's a Jotul #3.

It's the size of the current F3BC, right?

I'm assuming the listing of $1 is an error. How much are they selling it with all that chimney?

That's a #3. Probably a newer one - similar to the current model.

The older 3's had a spin draft. This has airwash top draft.

Very nice stove - cranks out amazing heat. Cons are small wood and relatively short burn.

Then this will not work for the Dixette in her new house... need longer burn times.

What size stove is needed, what is the maximum price, and how far is everyone willing to travel (in miles)? I'm pretty good at this.

The $1 is a barter add, there is also a "best offer /" add.

Says nothing about the chimney for sale.

Just shopping around for the Dixette & J for their new home.

I believe it is an older moder. The new door handles are curved. The older doors had the horizontal divider across the middle like that one. The new ones have the clear window arches with no divider. The newer ones have the primary air lever where the oval is on the bottom of the door. I'd say closer to 10+ years old.

The inlet in the oval in the door is for start up air. Not primary air. The primary air inlet remains on the upper right like the one in the pic. That is how they did it for primary air to provide the air wash over the glass. I know. One is in the basement.

If you are using that start up air as your primary air control, you ain't doing it right. Look in the manual.

Atleast 1 3CF, me thinx. House is 2500 - 3000 depending on on specs. 2 story kinda center hall, decent insulation. Good windows.

Price? Looking for a house warming ( tee hee :-P) present. Their job to do chimney, pad, etc. I'll throw in 2 - 3 loads of firewood.

Travel? Depends on the deal. Have F250, can travel, with in a reasonable distance.

I'll see what I can find.

"Atleast 1 3CF, me thinx."
-Not sure if you meant 1.3 cu ft or 3 cu ft.

Atleast "1" 3 CF.

Hopefully "1". 2's a witch. They know that.

The F3 firebox is NBA shoebox size. Less than 1 cf any way ya try to pack it. Love the stove but don't try to heat a house with it. Did fine for my basement office. If they were closer I would give them this one for a house warming present. To sit plants on in a house that size. Because I think plants on a wood stove is kewl.

You're on the right path, but I think it's actually much older than you think. According to Mark at Jotul, Jotul no.3's lacking the bypass damper control on the front face of the stove (top left corner) are more like 20+ years old, if I recall correctly. This stove ain't a "non-cat"... it's a "pre-cat".

Not sure what the price limit is so I'll list every house warming present worthy stove I found.

Give the girls a 30 and let them pay for the pipe. You will be golden. You know that. That is a lot of space to heat.

If ya need some help with it, let me know.

Oddly enough, not much in the way of Englander stoves in the used market. And the ones that I have found are rarely worth it due to price and condition when you can just buy a new one for a few dollars more.

Hey BAR... since you're so good at finding used stoves, where are all the second-hand Jotul 12 Firelights hiding?

The ad says "everything goes with it in the pics" so I suspect the chimney goes with it.
For the right price that's a score if it looks as good up close as it does in the photos.
